Blogger has been causing problems for some of our
designers all week long so you may come across a few
of our designer's blogs that do not appear updated
with today's blog hop post.
If that happens, please refer to the hop order at the end of
my post or on The Craft's Meow Store Blog to continue on, but make sure you plan to check back
on the other blogs because you'll need to leave a comment
on each blog in order to win our BIG PRIZE!

I combined three of the sets from this release for my vintage card.  I love how the retro styled plane looked perfect for a romantic card.

Pretty in Purple

I have a pretty simple card to share with you today - but I just wanted to show how pretty die-cuts looks with metallic paper. I used one of the dies form the Persian Motifs and cut it from Kanban Crafts metallic paper in purple. The sentiment was framed using a die from the Nested Pennants set.

Sail With Me

I hope you had a fantastic weekend! I've got a layout to share with you this morning using more of my favorite Cheery Lynn Designs Dies and Wow Embossing Powders. The panels backing my picture are made using the Horizon Coved Rectangle Reflection die.  I love how many sizes of cuts you can get from this series.

The large cream flowers were created with a combination of the Stacker Flowers #4 and  #5. The blue roses were made using the Medium Rose die - these are the fastest roses to make! With one pass of the die in your machine, you cut 6 flower shapes that already have a hole for your brad. They couldn't get any easier or look any prettier! The roses were perfect along the magnificent Mega Fanciful Flourish.  I use my original Fanciful Flourish all of the time, and now I am thrilled to have this large size for all of my layouts.   I finished off my flower clusters with lots of greenery.

The chipboard accent to the right of my picture is from Twiddleybitz and is a two part design.  I love the look of embossing on detailed chipboard.  On the bottom piece, I covered it with Wow Embossing Powder Copper Regular.  After it was heat-set, I stamped script from the Call Me Stamp set using Archival Ink.  The top piece was embossed with the Suzy West Cotton Candy powder, and then was spritzed with Goosebumps, and added some Opaque White Regular to give the appearance of splashing waves.

The Music of Spring

This weekend, I has such a relaxing time  playing in my studio, and I hope that you will enjoy my projects that I have to share with you. My husband is a music teacher, so I am always on the lookout for beautiful musical themed stamps and papers.  This was going to be a card, but I ended up loving it so much that I'm going to get a small shadow box and frame it for him to use in his classroom.

This project has a ton of layers - so I'll start on the bottom layer and just work my way up.  The blue background cardstock was embossed using Spellbinder's Mystic M-Bossabilities folder. Then I used Distress Ink to add color to the raised areas.

The background paper was made using just plain white cardstock and JustRite's Shabby Music Background Stamp. I embossed it using Wow Cotton Candy Embossing Powder, and then inked over it using various shades of brown Distress Ink. I distressed the edges, and then used Distress Stain along the edge.  I find that the stain really soaks into the rough edges of the paper, giving it a bolder look than the ink.

I added a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles cut from metallic gold Kanban Crafts paper.  Although this was a sold rectangle, I wanted it to be a frame, so I used the small rectangle from an old Spellbinders set ( Polka Dot Frame) to cut away the center.

The next medallion was stamped from the Musical Notes Labels Twenty set, and embossed using the Wow Ultra High Gold embossing powder. Then, it was cut out using the Labels Twenty die.  Two rounds of Want2Scraps Nestabling were added. (I love how all of these product coordinate together!)  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and was embossed using the Cotton Candy embossing powder.  Everything had a little Distress Ink added to it.

I made this litte bird's nest using linen twine and Helmar's Fabric Stiffener and Draping Liquid.  The eggs were made using a little bit of Creative Paperclay. The bird was stamped from the Musical Notes Labels Twenty set, and colored with Copics.  I fussy cut him out, and added just a touch of Stickles on his outer feathers.

The long flower borders at the top and bottom were stamped from the Friendship Blooms set, again using the Ultra High Gold powder.  I painted over the embossed image  with Creative Inspirations Paint in Sea Foam.  I then just used a damp paper towel to remove the paint from the embossed areas.  This same technique was used to color the stamped flower at the upper right corner.  I cut into each flower to form petals and shaped them using the McGill Paper Blossoms Craft Molding Mat and tools.  The seam binding bow  behind the flower was distessed by first tying the ribbon, and then spritzing it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadows Ink Spray in Buccaneer Bay Blue.
